Alanis Morissette
Alanis Nadine was born in Ottawa, Canada, on June 1st 1974. Alanis can be described as the female name of Alan which is her father's birth name. Georgia is the name of her mother and she shares two brothers with her, Chad and Wade. She began playing the piano at age six and began playing guitar at 21. Alanis recorded a 1986 single called Fate Stay with My (b Side: Find The Right Man). She recorded two albums as a dance-pop performer throughout Canada: Alanis (1991) and The Time Is The Time (1992). She relocated to Toronto when she was 18 and began working with musicians and writers, but these collaborations did not work. In 1994, she finally discovered the perfect partner in the producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had already worked with many performers, including Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. When she moved to LA She turned 19. Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill" in June 13th 15th, 1995. Alanis has discovered an extremely personal, autobiographical way to write songs. JLP is the third highest-selling album of all time and has been sold thirty million times across the globe.
