Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as a American rapper and singer, releasing sly tracks that tackled issues such as racial and sexual identity with a comedic twist. In the years before she stepped to Hollywood her career, she had the opportunity to release a number of songs. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first musical encounter. She performed on the trumpet. After classical and Jazz training She delved into hip-hop as a teen. Following a focus on education, she was awarded a degree in journalism in university and also a women's study degree. Following graduation, she decided to pursue music as her main focus. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also included other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC BitcheUSD. The final track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was released in the year 2015. Apart from having a book published, her other career was as a singer. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
